One of Australia's leading winemakers, Mr Brian Croser, is the new Deputy Chancellor of the University of ÐÂÀ˲ÊƱ.
Mr Croser, the Executive Chairman of Petaluma Limited, has well-established links with the University through the Department of Horticulture Viticulture and Oenology, and the new Wine Science Laboratory.
He was born and educated in South Australia, graduating with a Bachelor of Agricultural Science from the University of ÐÂÀ˲ÊƱ in 1969.
He was President of the Winemakers Federation of Australia from 1991 to 1995 and was re-elected to that position in September 1997.
As Deputy Chancellor, Mr Croser will be a leader in the University community, chairing meetings of the University Council and presiding over graduation ceremonies in any absence of the Chancellor, Mr Bruce Webb.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mary O'Kane, said Mr Croser's passion for education and strong role in industry made him an excellent choice for the position.
