Uni hosts free public lectures

Three of the University of ÐÂÀË²ÊÆ±'s leading teachers and researchers will give FREE public talks in a weekly series beginning at 4.15pm today (Wednesday, October 5).
The series is hosted by the , and features recently appointed Professors to the University speaking on their areas of expertise. The lectures are free, open to the public and media, and showcase the diversity of research and teaching occurring at the University of ÐÂÀË²ÊÆ±.
- The first lecture will be given today (Wednesday, October 5) by Professor of Professor Nick Jose. He will examine the traditions, and current state, of reading and writing in Australia in his lecture titled "A Shelf Of Our Own".
- The second lecture will be given by the Head of the , Professor Graham Hubbard, on Wednesday, October 12. His lecture, titled "Characteristics of Winning Organisations in Australia: the Winning Wheel" will look at the common elements among high-performing Australian businesses.
- The third lecture will be given by the Head of the University's , anthropologist Professor John Gray. He will discuss how high caste Hindus in Nepal use commonplace domestic activities as ways of building and understanding their concept of the cosmos in his lecture "Domestic Mandala: Houses and the Cosmos in Nepal".
