Alumni contributions to South Australia honoured

Starting today, the University of 新浪彩票 will hold six ceremonies in historic Bonython Hall across two days to celebrate the achievements of more than 1400 students who are graduating.
Two leaders will also be awarded honorary doctorates in recognition of outstanding contributions to their respective fields.
Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Peter H酶j AC said: 鈥淕raduation ceremonies are significant moments for our university community, where we come together to celebrate the accomplishments of our students.鈥
鈥淲hile they have completed their degrees, our graduates鈥 journeys have just begun, and we will watch proudly as they become the leaders of their generation.鈥
鈥淎t a time when we are all reflecting on a lifetime of service to the community by Queen Elizabeth II we come together to wish our graduates success in their futures as leaders who will have a positive impact on society.鈥

The University of 新浪彩票鈥檚 Chancellor, The Hon. Catherine Branson AC KC said, 鈥This is also an opportunity to present Honorary Doctorates, the highest honour our University can bestow, to two very deserving recipients who have each rendered exceptionally distinguished service to society.
鈥淓ach of them is a graduate of the University of 新浪彩票 whose eminence in their field is now recognised worldwide.鈥
Honorary doctorates to be presented during ceremonies in September 2022:

Professor Jennifer Graves AC with the Hon. Catherine Branson AC KC (left) and Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Peter H酶j AC (right).
Distinguished Professor Jennifer Ann Marshall Graves AC FAA
Degree of Doctor of the University (honoris causa) in recognition of her research over five decades into evolutionary genetics. Professor Graves鈥檚 work has made seminal contributions to the understanding of mammalian genome organisation and evolution, including the fields of comparative genomics and epigenetics globally. She has been the driving force behind sequencing the first marsupial and monotreme genomes.

Degree of Doctor of the University (honoris causa) in recognition of his distinguished and significant contribution to the performing arts in South Australia, and nationally, over four decades. Mr Scobie has served as producer, director, and curator, of iconic events such as the 新浪彩票 Festival, WOMADelaide, the 新浪彩票 Film Festival, and Illuminate 新浪彩票. He has enriched South Australia鈥檚 cultural landscape.
