New 5-Axis CNC Mill Expands Advanced Manufacturing Capability

DMU40 eVo Linear 5 axis CNC

We are excited to announce the installation and commissioning of a DMU 40 eVo linear 5-axis CNC milling machine at our fabrication facility in Thebarton, South Australia.

This addition marks a significant enhancement to our advanced manufacturing capabilities, enabling us to deliver greater precision, speed, and flexibility for our research and industry partners.

The DMU 40 eVo linear is equipped with:

  • A 24,000 rpm HSK 63 spindle
  • Linear drives for high-accuracy simultaneous 5-axis machining
  • A work area of 450 mm x 400 mm and a table load capacity of 250 kg
  • Compatibility with all metals and polymers

These features allow us to machine both large and intricate components with high accuracy, making it ideal for complex applications across science and technology sectors.

The machine is already in use, currently machining a precision glass extrusion die for an industry partner based in the United States.

This investment enables faster turnaround times and strengthens our ability to deliver bespoke, high-value components, particularly for Ultra High Vacuum systems, space technologies, and quantum research. All areas South Australia excels in. Importantly, it also supports efforts to bring the manufacturing of critical components back onshore.
