Refurbishment at the Barr Smith Library
Starting Monday 5 August 2024, the northern ends of Level 1 and Level 2 of the Barr Smith Library will be closed for refurbishment. This is phase 2 of the Library's refurbishment project, which includes installing new furniture, upgrading toilet facilities, and creating a brand new entrance on Level 1, opening onto the Barr Smith Lawns.
Refreshed study space on Level 2 - now open!

We're excited to announce that Level 2 North of the Barr Smith Library is now open for quiet study, with more improvements on the way! Over the next couple of months, you can expect brand new furniture to enhance your study environment, and the return of our collections for easier access to resources.

Level 2 North closed for refurbishment

The Barr Smith Library Level 2 North is currently closed for the next stage in our refurbishments.ÌýThis upgrade will improve student study spaces, with upgrades including re-carpeting, new paintwork, increased natural light and the creation of new study spaces.Ìý
Recreational Reading Collection now on Level 1 South

The Recreational Reading collection has now moved to Level 1 South of the Barr Smith Library, across from the Yaitya Ngutupira Collection. Come and relax on the comfy reading chairs or take a book home for the break!

Art in Action: Creation of the World of Ideas Mural

Visit the Barr Smith Library and see a work of art created before your eyes!ÌýArtist Guiyong Zhu (Zhuzhu), will be painting the World of Ideas mural during Orientation Week, starting Monday 24 February. An accompanying exhibition displays the inspiration for this artwork, showcasing the connections of ÐÂÀË²ÊÆ±â€™s global university.
