Research Integrity
High-quality research relies on the professional way in which our researchers conduct themselves and their research endeavours.
The University expects all researchers associated with our institution to abide by the basic principles of Honesty, Rigour, Transparency, Fairness, Respect, Recognition, Accountability and Promotion as outlined in theÌýÌý(the 'Code').
Researchers are required to:
- support a culture of responsible research;
- comply with relevant laws, regulation guidelines and policies;
- apply ethical principles and meet relevant ethical standards;
- use appropriate methods;
- retain research records appropriately;
- disseminate research findings and involvement of others accurately;
- disclose conflicts of interest; and
- report suspected breaches.
The University has formally adopted the Code through itsÌýResponsible Conduct of Research PolicyÌýand is developing a suite of policies to support the specific responsibilities outlined in the Code.
Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research
This Code has been jointly developed by the NHMRC, the ARC and Universities Australia, and has broad relevance across all research disciplines.
Research Integrity Advisers
Research Integrity Advisers are senior staff membersÌýwith research experience, wisdom, analytical skills, empathy, knowledge of the University’s policy and management structure, and familiarity with the accepted practices in research.
Authorship Policy
The University'sÌýÌýis designed to ensure compliance with the principlesÌýand relevant responsibilities embodied in the Code, and is adopted in the University'sÌý.
Authorship declaration
The Authorship declaration is designed to assist researchers to comply with theÌý, and to meet the requirements of the University of ÐÂÀË²ÊÆ±â€™sÌý.
This online program from Epigeum provides comprehensive training in the responsible conduct of research.ÌýCompulsory for all research students to complete within the first six months of candidature and for new Academic Research Staff within the first three months.
