South Australian Universities Alumni Europe
Mission and Vision
The South Australian Universities Alumni Europe (SAUAE) provides a significant link with South Australia, acting as a resource for graduates to help form strong, supportive professional and social networks in an international context. Through bringing together alumni members in various events throughout the year, our network creates a friendly and informal platform to promote the aims of South Australian universities and the state.
The Alumni Committee, is at the heart of this international network, and sets out to:
- strengthen the value and quality of the alumni experience for ourÌýmembers
- promote South Australia's and Australia's rich pools of graduate talent inÌýall fields and professions
- foster a strong and unified sense of community among South Australian graduates in Europe withÌýsupport and commitment of South Australian universities.

John Bray CLE - Novel Psychoactive Substances (NPS) and the Criminal Law
The Controlled Substances Act governs the legal response to possession, sale and supply of different categories of drugs. A growing challenge for forensic scientists, law enforcement and lawyers is the growth in novel psychoactive drugs, which are chemicals synthesised to mimic the effects of better known illicit drugs, but which are less well understood and regulated.ÌýGreg Abroe, Science Leader in the Drugs Group at Forensic Science SA, will explain the approach being taken by Forensic Science SA to the current legislation, and how scientists determine whether a NPS is a controlled drug for the purposes of the legislative scheme in the Controlled Substances Act. 13 May
